In this short article I am going to explain how to buy cryptocurrencies like Bitcoin, Ethereum, Litecoin and many more using CoinGate.
Before we begin, let me explain what CoinGate is. It is a cryptocurrency payment gateway. It enables businesses to accept Bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies. I use it on this site and others I run, to easily process my customer’s crypto payments. They are extremely professional and provide a great service.
Buy Bitcoin on CoinGate
You can buy Bitcoin using bank transfers or MoneyPolo. You DO NOT have to buy a whole Bitcoin, you can spend as little as $50. Once your bank transfer is received, you will then be able to choose when you commit to buying Bitcoin. This is ideal as it means you can wait for a drop in price before committing. Additionally, you can buy Bitcoin using a debit or credit card or you can charge the payment direct to a mobile or landline phone bill. This can be done without registering at the site.
Sell Bitcoin on CoinGate
Selling Bitcoin is just as easy. You simply send the Bitcoin you wish to sell to your CoinGate wallet. You can then lock in a price, guaranteeing you the amount of EUR or USD you will receive into your bank account. With that out of the way, let us proceed and buy some bitcoin.
Step One: Download a Cryptocurrency wallet
Before buying Bitcoin we need to set up a wallet on your computer. You will have a wallet/bitcoin address with your CoinGate account. However, it is good practice to move your coins, once purchased, onto a wallet you control on your computer. This is ideal if you are planning on buying Bitcoin as a long term investment. There are other options, such as hardware wallets. However, I will go into these in another article.
In this tutorial I am going to recommend Exodus Wallet.

Exodus portfolio mode. Here we can see the total value of your digital assets
I have been using this wallet since it’s inception. It is secure and very user friendly. It’s not just a wallet for Bitcoin, it supports over 60 other cryptocurrencies. Not only can you store your coins, you can swap coins using the built in exchange. Click here to Download Exodus. Once you download the file, open it and follow the set-up instructions which will guide you through the process of installation and securing your wallet, should you lose your computer.
Step Two: Let’s Buy some Bitcoin
Now that you have a wallet and are familiar with it. We will head over to CoinGate to buy some Bitcoin. Click this link to open the sign-up page
At the sign up page you have two options to buy Bitcoin. The first is using a CoinGate account. The second is to buy Bitcoin (and other cryptos) using your Visa or MasterCard. This method does not require you to register with CoinGate. We shall look at both options.
To create an account fill in the form. Accept the Terms and check the, I’m not a robot, checkbox. Submit the form and then check your email. CoinGate will send you a mail asking you to validate your email address.
Once you have validated your email address you can login and begin your Bitcoin Purchase. But before you do that head over to your account settings.
In account settings you can:
complete your profile
Set payout settings – Here you can enter your bank details. When you sell Cryptocurrencies on the platform it will send the EUR or USD to your bank account direct.
Set up 2FA authentication using Google Authenticator. Highly recommended. This adds another level of security to your account and is easy to set up. There are simple instructions provided.
You can view any support tickets you have created.
